Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (Emergency RN) Junior

Department (ED) Job Type: Full-time Level: Junior (1 2 years
experience) Position overview The Emergency Department Registered
Nurse Junior Level provides direct nursing care to patients with
urgent and emergent conditions in a fast-paced ED environment. This
role is ideal for early-career nurses with 1 2 years of experience
who want to build strong triage, stabilization, and emergency care
skills while working closely with an experienced ED team. Key
responsibilities Provide direct patient care in the Emergency
Department, including rapid assessment, stabilization, and ongoing
monitoring of patients with medical, surgical, and trauma
emergencies. Conduct triage, prioritize patients based on acuity,
and initiate appropriate interventions according to ED protocols.
Perform focused and head-to-toe assessments, obtain histories, and
document vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as ordered, and
monitor for therapeutic and adverse effects. Assist with or perform
procedures such as wound care, splinting, EKG acquisition, and
specimen collection per competency and policy. Participate in
emergency responses including codes, rapid responses, and trauma
activations, following BLS and ACLS protocols. Maintain accurate,
timely documentation in the EHR, ensuring thorough charting of
assessments, interventions, and patient education. Collaborate with
physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS, and interdisciplinary
teams to coordinate diagnostics, treatments, admissions, and
discharges. Required qualifications Associate s Degree in Nursing
(ADN) required. Current Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) license, or
compact license with Arizona eligibility. 1 2 years of RN
experience; prior Emergency Department, urgent care, or high-acuity
acute care experience preferred. Current BLS and ACLS
certifications; PALS and/or TNCC preferred per facility policy.
Foundational ED skills including triage basics, IV therapy, and ECG
acquisition/interpretation support. Effective communication,
customer service, and teamwork skills with a commitment to learning
and professional growth in emergency nursing. Core competencies
Rapid patient assessment, triage, and prioritization in a
high-volume emergency setting. Basic stabilization and emergency
response skills, including support of resuscitation and trauma
care. Safe medication administration and IV therapy in urgent and
emergent situations. Strong communication, collaboration, and
patient/family education under pressure. Time management,
multitasking, and adaptability in a fast-paced ED environment. 5
