located at the west end of the historic Globe-Miami mining district
of central Arizona, approximately 80 miles east of Phoenix. Pinto
Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than
four billion pounds of copper. Acquired by Capstone from BHP in
2013, the mine is fully permitted through 2039 and a study is
underway to potentially extend the mine life through 2050. Our

Overview The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Planner is
responsible for developing and executing both long-term and
short-term maintenance plans to optimize equipment performance and
reliability across the Processing area. This role supports safe,
efficient maintenance execution while delivering performance
targets for safety, production, cost, and equipment availability in
alignment with Capstone’s Values in Action. Position
Responsibilities Safety & Compliance: Plan and schedule all E&I
work in compliance with MSHA regulations, Pinto Valley Mine
standards, SOPs, and environmental requirements. Work Management:
Execute maintenance planning and scheduling using E-SAP processes
to support safe, compliant, and efficient work execution.
Performance Delivery: Support achievement of safety, reliability,
equipment availability, and cost performance targets. Maintenance
Strategy: Align short- and long-term work plans with reliability
strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and approved
corrective work. E&I Technical Planning: Provide planning
expertise for electrical and instrumentation systems up to 13.8 kV,
including PM and PdM activities. Planning & Scheduling: Develop
daily, weekly, two-week, and rolling quarterly maintenance plans to
optimize resources and minimize downtime. Resource Coordination:
Assign labor, contractors, materials, tools, and equipment to
ensure work readiness and schedule adherence. Down Day Execution:
Plan, support, and review Down Day activities, including execution
tracking and post-event reviews. Work Order & Systems Control:
Prioritize, plan, schedule, and close work orders in E-SAP,
maintaining accurate labor, material, and equipment history.
Continuous Improvement & Values: Drive planning process
improvements while demonstrating Capstone’s Values in Action and
performing additional duties as assigned. Position Requirements
Required 3–5 years of experience in E&I maintenance planning
and scheduling, preferably in mining or heavy industrial
environments. Strong working knowledge of preventive and predictive
maintenance practices. Experience planning E&I systems within
concentrator, crusher, mill, SXEW, tailings, or similar processing
operations. Intermediate to proficient computer skills, including
Microsoft Office and Outlook. Experience using SAP or similar CMMS
(SAP Asset Management preferred). Proven ability to work
independently and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Valid Arizona Driver’s License. Ability to speak, read, write, and
comprehend English. Preferred Background as an E&I
craftsperson, maintenance supervisor, planner, or engineer.
Experience with reliability programs, condition monitoring, and
maintenance strategy development. Completion of in-house testing
and certifications as required. Work Environment / Physical Demands
Approximately 80% of time will be spent planning and scheduling
maintenance activities in an office environment, with the remaining
20% spent in the field supporting execution. Work includes indoor
and outdoor activities in an active mining and processing
environment and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions,
uneven terrain, and operational equipment. All candidates will be
required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and
alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a
pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit
for duty’. Additional training and/or testing may be required.
