Position: Director of Nursing (Home Health) Dependable Home Health is seeking a highly organized and knowledgeable individual to be responsible for ensuring the highest quality patient care is coordinated and managed appropriately. The Director of Nursing also works collaboratively with other clinical supervisory and administrative team members to provide appropriate and continual program oversight, supervision, training and mentoring of clinical personnel as directed by the Chief Nursing Officer/Administrator. This position acts under the direct supervision of the Administrator and is responsible for the administration of standards, implementation of process and programs, in order to meet regulatory, accreditation and standards of practice. Director of Nursing Essential Functions: Planning, directing and evaluating operations to ensure the provision of adequate and appropriate care and services. Complying with applicable law and regulation. Implementing and monitoring quality improvement programs. Ensuring that processes are in place and complied with to monitor and evaluate safety, risk management, and infection control programs Implementing governing body directives and ensuring that appropriate service policies are developed and implemented. Provides guidance and counseling to Clinical Supervisors to assist them in continually improving all aspects of home health care services, provided through organization personnel. Assists Clinical Supervisors in managing clinical teams and planning. Evaluates performance of Clinical Supervisors. Assists Clinical Supervisors to develop skills and techniques in evaluating the performance of clinicians. Assures the proper maintenance of patient clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws. Ensuring program personnel has current clinical information and current practices. Recruiting, employing and retaining personnel to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Establishing and maintaining effective channels of communication. Directing and monitoring organizational performance improvement activities. Ensuring staff development including orientation, in-service education, continuing education, and evaluation of staff. Develops, implements and evaluates the orientation program for new organization personnel. Assists with the evaluation of organization performance via performance improvement program, productivity, quarterly and annual reviews. Assures for the quality and safe delivery of home health services provided through the organization. Assuring that skilled nursing and other therapeutic services furnished are under the supervision and direction of a physician or registered nurse. Assuring appropriate staff supervision during all operating hours. Assuring the development and qualifications for professional services and the assignment of personnel. Ensuring the accuracy of public information materials and activities. Appointing a similarly qualified alternate to be available at all times during operating hours in the absence of the administrator. Assists in the development of organizational goals. Develops, recommends, and administers organization policies and procedures. Informing the governing body, staff, and professional advisory group of current organizational, community, and industry trends. Assures compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel and maintains compliance to the ACHC Home Care standards. Director of Nursing Qualified candidates will possess the following: Registered nurse with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the state Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing. A Master's degree in health care or related field preferred. At least three (3) to five (5) years' experience in health care management preferably in home care operations. Demonstrated an ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel. Ability to market aggressively and deal tactfully with the community. Knowledge of corporate business management. Demonstrates good communications and public relations skills. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
