Dependable Health Services Position: Occupational Therapist (Home Health) Part-time or full-time flexible hours! Occupational Therapists (Home Health) needed for the Northwest and Southwest Tucson and Green Valley areas. Are you motivated by a passion to help others? As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with patients to evaluate their functional status and capacity, including evaluating the home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living. You will conduct work capacity evaluations where appropriate and may make referrals to specialized vocational training. In addition, you will establish treatment programs and goals, communicate plans of care to the patient's medical team, the patient and family members, teach or retrain patient skills and fabricate splits and instruct patients and/or family members in use of adaptive equipment. Occupational Therapists Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities: Evaluates the patient's functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written/verbal communication skills, self-care ability, work capacity, etc.). Evaluates home environment for hazards or barriers to more independent living. Identifies equipment needs. Participated in the total plan of care. For patients who plan to return to work, the Occupational Therapist may perform work capacity evaluation and may refer to a specialized vocational training in accordance with Organization policy. Develops treatment program and establishes goals for improved function. Communicates plan of care to referring physician and other organization professionals. May teach new skills or retrain patient in once familiar daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury in accordance with Organization policy. May fabricate splints and instruct patient in the use of various types of adaptive equipment to improve function. May train patient in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices. Maintains appropriate clinical records, clinical noted, and reports to the primary physician any changes in the patient's condition. Submits these records in accordance with Organization policy. Maintains contact/communication with other personnel involved in the patient's care to promote coordinated, efficient care. Attends and contributes to in services, case conferences, and other meetings as required by Organization policy to ensure coordinated and comprehensive plans of care for the patients. Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and refers as appropriate. Instructs patient's family/caregiver and other Organization health care personnel in the patient's treatment regime when indicated and appropriate. Supervises Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants according to organization policy and State regulations. When Occupational Therapy is the only skilled service provided, supervised and evaluates Home Heath Aide every two (2) weeks. Participates in discharge planning for the patient. Occupational Therapists Position Qualifications: Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist Possess a current valid Arizona Class C Driver's license Have reliable personal transportation Have a current CPR and First Aid Certification Have a TB clearance health card that meets federal/state requirements Have a satisfactory fingerprint clearance that meets federal/state requirements Be a US Citizen or have proof of ability to work legally in the United States Ability to successfully pass background checks Bilingual and/or conversational Spanish language ability desired but not required Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited jointly by the Committee on Allied Health Education, the American Medical Association, and the American Occupational Therapy Association.
