description of locum gastroenterologist job requirements. Specific

Responsibilities: Diagnose and treat a wide range of digestive
system disorders in adults and potentially children (depending on
the position). Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical
examinations. Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as
endoscopies, X-rays, CT scans and blood tests. Perform endoscopic
procedures to diagnose and treat digestive conditions (depending on
the scope of practice). Develop and implement treatment plans.
Manage chronic digestive conditions and provide ongoing patient
care. Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists and other specialists
when needed to ensure coordinated care. Educate patients on
digestive health and disease prevention. Maintain accurate and
complete medical records for all patients. Stay current on the
latest advancements in gastroenterology through continuing
education. Skills: In-depth knowledge of gastroenterology
principles and practices, including diagnosis, treatment and
prevention of digestive diseases. Strong clinical judgment and
decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with
patients and collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
Technical proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures (if
applicable). Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for
endoscopic procedures. Meticulous attention to detail and the
ability to adapt to changing patient conditions. Time management
and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively.
Minimum Education Requirements: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or
Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited
medical school. Residency training program in internal medicine
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical
Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
Fellowship training in gastroenterology (may be preferred depending
on the position). License & Certifications: Board certification in
gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
or the AOA. Active and unrestricted medical license in Arizona.
Experience: While specific requirements may vary, most locum
gastroenterologist positions prefer candidates with at least one
year of experience providing gastroenterology care in a clinical or
hospital setting. Additional Notes: Locum tenens gastroenterologist
