Position location: Sahuarita, Arizona Please see all of our open positions at www.dependablehealth.com Pediatric Respite Licensed Practical Nurse Job Description Summary The Pediatric Respite Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes. Pediatric Respite Licensed Practical Nurse Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities The Pediatric Respite Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act. Furnishes services under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures. Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care. Assesses and provides patient and family/caregiver education regarding self-care techniques and information pertinent to diagnosis and plan of care. Participates in coordination of home health services, appropriately reporting the identified needs for other disciplines (HHA, OT, PT, MSW, ST, Dietician) to the registered nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor. Uses and/or prepares equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently adhering to aseptic technique. Participates in personal and professional growth and development. Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse. Pediatric Respite Licensed Practical Nurse Position Qualifications: Bilingual Spanish Speaking is a Plus!! Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program. Has one (1) year pediatric nursing experience preferred. Community/home health or medical/surgical experience is preferred. Currently licensed as a licensed practical nurse or licensed vocational nurse in the state. Possess and maintain valid CPR certification. Complies with accepted professional standards and practice. Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills. Prolonged or considerable walking or standing. Able to lift, position or transfer patients. Able to lift supplies and equipment. Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling or crouching. Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills. Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements.
