sustainable solutions. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly
skilled and experienced Senior CAD Technician to join our dynamic
team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the
design and drafting process, contributing to the successful
delivery of civil engineering projects. As a Senior CAD Technician,
you will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other
team members to produce accurate and detailed drawings, ensure the
efficient and precise translation of design concepts into
construction documents. Projects include commercial, residential,
subdivision, industrial, utilities, municipal, and other relevant
site development projects. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant software to create
detailed and accurate civil engineering drawings. Generate plans,
profiles, cross-sections, and other construction documents based on
project specifications. Work closely with project managers,
engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project
requirements and objectives. Communicate effectively within the
team to ensure alignment on design standards and project goals.
Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy, compliance
with standards, and adherence to project guidelines. Participate in
quality control processes to maintain high standards in all
deliverables. Stay current with industry trends and advancements in
CAD technology. Provide technical and CAD drafting support to
junior staff when needed. Identify and resolve design drafting
challenges in collaboration with the project team. Propose creative
and practical solutions to enhance project outcomes. Maintain
organized project files and documentation. Ensure proper archiving
and storage of CAD files and project records. Assist development
and enforcement of CAD standards across civil projects.
Qualifications: Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in CAD in
the civil engineering industry. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD
Civil 3D including surface modeling, grading, pipe networks, data
shortcuts, and plan production. Strong understanding of civil
engineering principles and construction processes. Excellent
attention to detail, accuracy in drafting, and able to resolve
redlines quickly. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Ability and willingness to learn new softwares, processes, and
systems as necessary. Leadership and training capabilities for
junior staff. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
